We have put together some frequently asked questions about handmade rug care for your convenience:
Rug Cleaning
For long lasting durability and beauty of your fine rug, clean spots and spills immediately using mild soap and water or dry powder rug cleaner. Occasional cleaning by a reputable professional is recommended.
Non-slip Padding
The use of an appropriate non-slip padding under your rug is recommended for safety purposes to prevent the rug from slipping. Also, the padding will protect the underlying floor and to add a luxurious comfort and cushion. Without a pad, your rug may start to wrinkle, especially when placing your rug directly over carpet.
Stains and Spills
If a spill occurs, try to clean it immediately with water and a bar of soap. Apply soap and water and use a clean white towel to dab the area. After the stain disappears, dry with a clean white towel. Please make sure that the towel you are using is white.
Cleaning Tip: If you spill red wine, use white wine and a clean white towel.
Cleaning Tip: If ink spills on your rug, use plain yogurt or milk and a clean white towel.
Vacuuming
Regular vacuuming for normal traffic and dust is recommended. You may use any kind of vacuum. The great thing about our rugs is that the colors do not run. Most of our rugs are made with vegetable dyes which do not run.
